1977 Grad Working on Missile Warning Systems

Dan Cantele Class of 1977

Dan Cantele, Class of 1977, is nearing his second anniversary working with Lockheed Martin in Longmont, Colorado, as a computer system architect. Cantele joined Lockheed in December of 2018 and now is working on programs for its Overhead Persistent Infrared satellite systems. OPIR satellites serve as the United States’ missile warning system.

At Harlem, Cantele sang in the choir and competed on the boys track and field team. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Arizona State University in 1985. He moved from Illinois to Colorado in 2011 to work for the city and county of Denver and has been out west ever since.
