Public Comment
Individuals who wish to make public comment may do so in-person or by submitting that public comment via email to boardofeducation@harlem122.org or by mailing that public comment to Attn: Board of Education, 8605 North Second St., Machesney Park, Illinois 61115. For information, please review School Board Policy 2:230 Public Participation at School Board Meetings and Petitions to the Board.
Submitted by mail or email: If you would like to submit a public comment in writing, please include your name, address, contact information, and public comment. The comments should be limited to 400 words or less as this is the equivalent of three minutes. Each Board member will receive your comment; however, it will not be read aloud at the Board meeting.
Submitted in person: If you would like to make a public comment in person, please complete a Public Comment form that is available at the Board meeting site and submit that to the Board President before the meeting is called to order. You will be allowed three minutes to provide your comment during the “Comments from the Community” section of the Board meeting.

School Board Information
The corporate name of this School District shall be "Board of Education of School District No. 122, County of Winnebago and State of Illinois" as provided by law, commonly known as the Harlem Consolidated School District.
The School Board is constituted as a group and has authority only as a group in regularly scheduled sessions. The members of the School Board as individuals are citizens only. The control over the school by the School Board is not by individual members, but through votes whereby rules, regulations, and policies are adopted, enforced, and decisions completed. All Harlem School Board members have completed the required professional development leadership training.
The School District strives to maintain the accreditation of the Harlem Schools by the Illinois State Board of Education. In addition, the high school maintains accreditation with the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.
Regular meetings of the Board of Education, District Policy Committee, District Business Services Committee, District Education Committee, and District Equity and Social Justice Committee are held in the Board of Education Building at 8605 North Second Street in said District. All meeting dates are posted on the District Calendar; agendas are added 48 hours prior to the scheduled meeting.
