Harlem's Employees of the Quarter - October 2019

Harlem is recognizing employees every quarter that make Harlem a great place to learn and work.

Lindsay Hayes - Harlem Middle School Special Education Teacher Lindsay Hayes - Harlem Middle School Special Education Teacher
Lindsay was nominated because she is always positive in her approach to staff and students.  She recently became the division chair for special education, and prior to that, she was mentoring new special education teachers both formally and informally.  Once she took her new position, she updated all course selection sheets for the LEA, who is currently out on leave.  She maintains relationships with former students to see how they are progressing.  She is a member of the HMS PBIS committee and is actively seeking partnerships to benefit our students (i.e. The Rockford Ice Hogs).  She also volunteers for several fundraising events.  Thank you, Lindsay, for all that you do!

Debbie Goelz - Secretary at Ralston Elementary School Debbie Goelz - Secretary at Ralston Elementary School
Debbie is a new addition to Ralston this year. She is working hard on learning new procedures and processes. Debbie comes to school with a smile every day and is always willing to lend a hand, no matter what it may be! She has been caught in the front flower bed pulling weeds during her lunch hour and putting in extra time to make sure systems run smoothly at Ralston! We are so thankful for Debbie.

Aerianna Cicero - Secretary at Parker Center Aerianna Cicero - Secretary at Parker Center
Aerianna goes above and beyond to help staff members and families at Parker Center. Aerianna greets everyone with a very warm welcome and our families know she will address their needs. Our staff values Aerianna’s work and knows that she can be counted on. She often volunteers to help whenever something is needed. She has gone out of her way to make sure kids have what they need. This has included offering to purchase items that students need for school. She has the kindest heart and our district is much better off because of her!

Dave Trollop - Custodian at Maple Elementary Dave Trollop - Custodian at Maple Elementary
Dave is such a hard worker. He takes amazing pride in his work and the appearance of Maple School. Maple staff will tell you that he gives 100% on a daily basis. No task is too big or too small. Maple School is so clean and our school shines because of him. Not only is he the custodian but he also fixes things for the students and staff on a regular basis like pencil sharpeners, computer mice and even car remote controls. Don't ask. If he doesn't have the proper tools at school he brings his own tools from home. Dave is a true people person. He is always talking and joking around with the students and staff. Teachers frequently will find a toy snake on their desk, or a fake spider compliments of him. The staff loves him and so do the students. We have a preschool student who comes to school and doesn't want to go to his classroom. Mrs. Poole tries to walk him down and he will tell her no. He says he only wants Mr. Dave. Mr. Dave comes and takes his hand and off they go down the hall to his classroom. He looks up at Mr. Dave and will tell him, I wuv you Mr. Dave. This student's parent told me he goes around the house telling everyone he wuvs Mr. Dave. Well he isn't the only one who wuvs Mr Dave. We all do!
