Amanda Wiseley, class of 2003, just started as an AmeriCorps VISTA for the Winnebago County Housing Authority in September.
Wiseley, who got her bachelor’s degree in human services from Judson University in 2014, is working on a master’s degree in social work through Aurora University.
For AmeriCorps, Wiseley is helping more than 100 residents of Winnebago County public housing bridge the digital divide. Her goal is to help more than 25 residents obtain free Internet services and cell phone devices as well as to teach digital and financial literacy to more than 75 residents.
At Harlem, Wiseley, who lives in Machesney Park, played tennis and was a member of Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), the International Club and Business Professionals of America.
