On Tuesday, February 26, students from every performing Harlem musical group came together to give one amazing concert. The Kaleidoscope Concert not only showcased the various musical talents in our district but also raised funds for the annual scholarships awarded by the Harlem Music Boosters. Scholarships were awarded this year to seniors Makenzie Seymour and Hannah Flynn. Congratulations, ladies! Great job, Harlem musicians!
Harlem Music Boosters is an organization that supports music in the Harlem district. In recent years, Music Boosters has purchased folders for the high school choir, new drum heads, chairs for the elementary and middle school band rooms, and microphones for the middle school. They have also partnered with other groups to upgrade the middle school piano lab and upgrade the lights in the high school auditorium.
The band and choir students are currently selling cheesecakes, their biggest fundraiser of the year. Cheesecake orders are due on March 19. Harlem Music Boosters meets monthly at the High School. Find them on Facebook for meeting dates and times and to learn more about how you can get involved.
