Students in grades four through six attend art class once a week at Machesney Elementary School. We offer a comprehensive program that provides instruction in art production, art history, art criticism, and art aesthetics. Mrs. Susan Schumacher has been the art instructor at the school since its opening in 1991.

• 5th grade  is studying Georgia O'Keeffe.
• 6th grade  is learning about Carmen Lomas Garza.

The staff of OfficeMax surprised Mrs. Schumacher on October 2nd with their "A Day Made Better" award.  These supplies will benefit all of the students at Machesney Elementary!

Mrs. Schumacher is a leader of the Machesney Pilots 4-H Club, which meets the first Monday of every month (that school is in session) at Machesney Elementary School. Click the tab at left for more information.
